Ground Improvement Project of Vibroflotation Gravel Pile in Tarahan Port Phase 5, Indonesia

The Project was about 4 hectares and located in the south of Sumatra Isalnd. Both vibro-compaction and vibro-replacement methods are used in this project. For vibro-replacement, gravels are backfilled to form ∅800mm (gravel) piles with  24m depth.  The improvment fulfilled the requirments of engineering bearing capacity and post-construction settlment.
