Geoharbour Bangladesh Engineering and Construction Limited and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) have entered into a significant collaboration aimed at developing a standard code of ground improvement practice in Bangladesh.

From BUET, Dr. Ahsanul Kabir, Professor and Head of the Civil Engineering Department, and from Geoharbour Bangladesh, Mr. Chen Guang, Managing Director, signed the Sponsorship Agreement contract.

The sponsorship agreement outlines GH's commitment to funding an approved research project at BUET, focusing on the development of a Bangladesh Standard Code. This initiative aims to enhance ground improvement works across the country.

The agreement includes provisions for the establishment of an Executive Committee responsible for overseeing research compilation and documentation. The committee comprises notable figures from BUET, Geoharbour Bangladesh, and other relevant stakeholders.

Geoharbour Bangladesh Engineering and Construction Limited will provide funding for the development of the standard code, supporting two full-time students for postgraduate studies and research at BUET. The research findings will contribute to drafting a comprehensive standard code for ground improvement works.

This initiative underscores the commitment of Geoharbour Bangladesh and BUET to advancing engineering practices in Bangladesh and fostering collaboration between academia and industry for sustainable development.
